Park Watch and County Fair

I have always been interested in the activities within my community, one of them being Police organizations. Having spent time as a volunteer for the local Fire Department, the American Red Cross and attending community activities/meetings, I was made aware of a short class with the Park Police and attended.

I became involved with the newly formed PVAAA (Park Police Academy Alumni Association) since shortened to the PPVA. I was the organizations first Vice President and served one year in the Treasurers position. I enjoyed biking the trails and participating in various festivals. One of my favorite activities is the Prince Georges Country Fair. Being additional "eyes and ears" has made me become more aware of what the officers encounter. On several occasions during the fair we were able to take part in reuniting lost children/parents among other activities.

It is a pleasure to belong to an organization that has the diversity and professionalism to dedicate their time and energy to the community.

Be Safe!
