PPVA has something for everyone. I originally joined to participate on bike patrols in the parks. While I have continued to do this during my membership, I have also had many administrative positions such as President for 5 plus years, treasurer and a member of the Executive Board.

During this time I have achieved having us obtain our IRS 501(c)(3), that is classifying the PPVA as a charitable organization. This qualified us to obtain status with the Federal government Combined Federal Campaign so that we are designated for payroll withholding contributions. We established an Associate Member program to give interested people a chance to check out the organization prior to taking the Academy classes necessary to become a full member. I have given presentations to the MNCPP budget meetings, the PG county council and the organization that grants certification to police agencies. I have enjoyed participating in the park clean ups, youth service day projects, traffic control at events and cell phone collection activities.

PPVA would welcome anyone that finds these activities to their liking. I have enjoyed the feeling of camaraderie and the pleasure of doing something that benefits others.

Thank you.
