I got involved with the Park Police Volunteer Assoc. when my husband had mentioned joining PPVA to get involved with biking the trails. Since we joined, we have been helping out with various activities. Helping coordinate an Easter egg hunt with the kids, or fingerprinting children at festivals and the county fair. We fingerprint adults twice a month who need it done for different reasons. We also bike the county trails to help the park police in keeping the trails safe. As our group expands so do our activities such as park clean ups, youth service day projects, and cell phone collection.I also have been the association's treasurer since 2001.
Being involved with the PPVA has been a good experience. I not only meet different people in our organization, but also meet new people helping out in our various activities. I guess the best part of being in the group is knowing we are helping the community become a better place.
