Patuxent River Park Camp, August 2007

The 1st photo is a check PPVA received from a Grant from REI for the 2007 Ecology
Adventure summer camps at Patuxent River Park. The other photos are from the events
at Patuxent River Park. The REI grant would support the camp held at Patuxent
River Park which introduced about 40 teens to outdoor adventure experiences this
past summer including trail biking, kayaking, geocaching and GPS navigation,
ecology/marine/wetland education programs. We hope the REI grant funds could grow
the camp programs and offer scholarships to kids in need. Park Police Volunteers
and Retired Officers will be directly involved in teaching trail and bicycle safety
to groups of teens as part of each camp session.
